Operation
Green Shoot For Marysville A Go
The supply of recycled water to
residents at Sandhurst by South East Water has brought
to life Operation Green Shoot, a unique potting program
which will see local residents and South East Water
staff working together to pot up to 1000 native shrubs
which will be planted in Marysville later in the year.
The plants are being donated to the Marysville community
as part of efforts to re-vegetate the area after
February's 'Black Saturday' bush fires.
The shrubs will be maintained through
to December in individual gardens and then transported
to Marysville as an early Christmas gift for residents
of the small town.

of Operation Green Shoot at Sandhurst Club
today.
South East Water supplies recycled water
to Sandhurst and is sponsoring Operation Green Shoot.
The water company is working with local residents and
the Sandhurst Gardening Club on this project. Plantmark,
a local nursery, is also lending its
support.
Bill Laird, General Manager of
Sandhurst Club said Operation Green Shoot follows on
from engagement with the Marysville community after the
Marysville Sandhurst Charity Golf Day held earlier in
the year.
"The fact that we have recycled water
at Sandhurst means that we can pot up the plants and
have plenty of water available to encourage their growth
over spring," said Mr Laird.
"Operation Green
Shoot provides a great opportunity to work directly with
the Sandhurst community and showcase the benefits of
recycled water. This wonderful project is making a
significant contribution towards rebuilding Marysville
after the impact of this year's bush fires; we are proud
to offer our support," said Murray Goddard, General
Manager - Customer and Community at South East
Water.
South East Water staff will join
with members of Sandhurst Gardening Club for the first
stage of Operation Green Shoot in October On the
day 1000 native shrubs will be transferred into larger
pots in which they will grow before being given to
residents of Marysville as Christmas gifts later in the
year.
