Mr. De Domenico said,
"The Alan Hunt Annual Oration is aimed at promoting the importance of government,
industry and the community to discuss and consider the thirty year outlook for
planning and development in the future.
"Alan Hunt made
an outstanding contribution to planning in Victoria with issues defining the broad
long term future of areas such as the Dandenongs, the Yarra Valley and the Mornington
Peninsula.
"The introduction
of the Alan Hunt Annual Oration comes at a time when planning needs a long term
outlook to cope with the refurbishment of Melbourne suburbs, and the development
of greenfield projects and regional cities to cope with Victoria's and Australia's
growing population," Mr. De Domenico said.
