Heart and Soul of North Growing Stronger

James Brayshaw

Media personality and President of North Melbourne James Brayshaw is celebrating his Club's growth after another successful year.

Mr Brayshaw led the fight to retain the Club in its heartland in 2007 and the Roos have never looked back, going from strength to strength.

Just seven Clubs increased their membership base this season and North was one of them. Richmond had the most new members (5372) while North had the greatest percentage increase with its 3509 new members causing an 11.73 per cent spike.

Speaking at the monthly lunch of the Urban Development Institute of
Australia in Melbourne today on Leadership Mr Brayshaw said, "Our traditional Arden Street Oval, home of the Kangaroos, was now a vibrant community hub and we are very focused on social cohesion and family values through "The Huddle" program.

"The Huddle is North's community and educational arm and has a classroom embedded within the Club's headquarters."

After cementing the Club's off-field position, Mr Brayshaw said he's now focusing on Finals for the first time in four years.

"It's a tremendous effort for us to be back playing in September and credit must go to the players who have shown true Shinboner spirit all year."
